We Live
This powerful message from 1 John 5:1-12 reminds us that in Christ, we don't merely exist—we truly live. The sermon explores what it means to be fully alive through our connection to God, challenging the enemy's lie that following Christ means missing out on life. Instead, we discover that outside of Christ, we're simply breathing but not truly alive, trapped in fleeting existence. The message beautifully weaves together three essential connections: our connection to God through the gospel, our connection to each other as the family of God, and our connection through obedience to His commands. These aren't burdensome restrictions but life-giving pathways. We're reminded that when 93 strangers can travel to Honduras and immediately recognize their spiritual bond, or when church members drive hours to pray for someone in the hospital, we witness the supernatural power of being connected through Christ. The testimony of God—witnessed at Jesus' baptism through the Spirit, water, and blood—is the same testimony we carry within us as adopted children of God. This isn't cheerleading; it's truth we walk in daily, claiming victory over the accuser who tries to awfulize our past and plant doubt in our hearts.
