Peru Earthquake

Dear Brethren:

It please me to report that the White's ferry Road Church of Christ has donated $5000.00 in relief funds for the needs prompted by the earthquake in Peru.  Their generous donation will be deposited in the account of Escuela Biblica for withdrawal this evening by the faculty overseers of relief at Escuela Biblica.  Don Yelton of AMEN Ministry and WFR Relief Ministries ahs been instrumental in getting these funds to the churches in Peru and we appreciate so much his efforts.  . 

May God continue his blessings on you, Maximo, Tomas, Rodolfo, and Jacobo as you administer these funds and bring healing to your nation. (Valverde report; Dowell report)

Aug 20, 2007: Dear Don:

 I appreciate your call and interest in Peru.  I have enclosed some pictures sent to me  by Tomas Parillo, a faculty member at Escuela Biblica in Lima.  He, along with Maximo Collao and Rodolfo Casas, are heading up the relief work in Peru at this moment.  They are also joined by Jacobo Chalco, a long-term minister in Lima and presently working in Nashville at the Crieve Hall Church as Spanish minister.

 I have been involved in Lima for eight years, having led seven medical teams to Lucyana (a suburb of Lima) for these years.  I am also involved in the Christian leadership school and raise funds for that school, along with a stateside board of four individuals.  We have an account for Escuela Biblica  in Nashville and Maximo and the school board in Lima have access to that account with a debit card.  This account is under the oversight of the Echo Hills Church, where I preach with John McCasland as treasurer. 

I hope this information is sufficient to begin some assistance at this time.  If you need further details please contact me via e-mail or phone.
