Q: How do I know if I need Celebrate Recovery?
A: If you struggle with any of the following, Celebrate Recovery can help you find hope and healing: chronic use of chemical substances, alcohol, food, sex, or relationships; depression; anger; co-dependency; shame; or anything else that gets in the way of you being all that God has called you to be.
Q: Who leads the groups?
A:Our group leaders are recovery veterans who have completed a Step Study and have maintained at least one year of sobriety and/or abstinenece. They know where you have been and can share their experience and successes with you and help you to recover.
Q: How does the Celebrate Recovery program differ from Alcoholics Anonymous?
A: Jesus Christ is the reson that Celebrate Recovery continues to be so successful in helping people break the cycle of addiction and harmful behavior. While Celebrate Recovery is indeed an 12-step program, it is based on the Word of God, specifically the Beatitudes of Christ. He is the only Higher Power.
Q: Can a person overcome an addiction or behavior that they have struggled with for
many years?
Yes! Celebrate Recovery offers a proven platform for successful recovery from your addiction or behavior. By taking a spiritual approach , surrounding yourself with others who know the way and committing to change, you can find freedom from your hurts, hang-ups and habits.
Q: What if my struggles are not related to alcohol or substance abuse?
A: If there is anything in your life that is keeping you from being who God wants you to be,whether it's addiction or any other hurt, hang-up or habit, then we have a place for you at Celebrate Recovery. Check out our small groups page for more information.
Q: I myself am not addicted, but have been deeply hurt and affected by my spouse's
addictions. Can you help me?
A: Yes! Addiction affects the whole family and Celebrate Recovery provides a variety of small gorups that can help family members recover from the pain and hurt caused by relationships with addicted love ones.
Q: I am too embarrassed to let someone know what I am struggling with. Can I just
come and sit quietly?
A: It is common for newcomers to initially be a little resistant to sharing their struggles. However, most find themselves opeining up once they realize that they are in a safe place. We share our beleive that sharing strenghs, hope and experiences brings the healing changes that we need to recover.
Q: Will I need to find a sponsor in the group?
A: Yes, a sponsor is critical in helping you in the recovery process. Accountability partners are also significant members of your recovery team, and help play a vital role in your recovery.
Q: Does Celebrate Recovery offer in-depth counseling or clinical therapy?
A: Our group leaders are not trained counselors and cannot provide this service; however, we are able to refer you to Christiian counselors in the area.
Q: Do you have childcare available?
A: We offer childcare for infants to 12 years free of charge.
Q: Do I need to belong to White's Ferry Road Church
to join the group?
A: You are invited to Celebrate Recovery regardless of your church affiiation. If you are in need of a home church, we welcome you to visit other WFR worship services. |
