Harriett,
I took another member of the Church here and met Jeff, Jenny & Gabby at the airport tonight. His sponsor was also there. I gave them a map to the church building along with some contact telephone numbers. They seemed extra nice and energetic. I expect we will be getting a lot of activity out of them while they are here.
God bless,
Josh

First Letter:

I write to you on behalf of my son David Cates who is 18 years old and just went to Lackland AFB, TX. He just obeyed the Gospel before leaving Tuesday, September 8. I am sure by now he could use someone with a friendly face to take him to church if they allow that at boot Camp. He will be going to Shephard AFB in Wichita Falls, TX next. I understand our Minister Curtis Berbaricle met my cousin Jack Thomson in Korea through this ministry. Praise God. Curtis has been such a wonderful support and baptized David. - Your sister Karen.

Second Letter:

Thank you for contacting my son David Cates thru Dale Nelson, I know all the prayers and concern shown him is making a difference. How very important it is to know that no matter where you go there are brothers and sisters in Christ to worship and serve with. I will send support of this great work as soon as possible. Karen DuVal.

More Explanation

The Locator Service of the AMEN  Ministry is a simple concept that depends on the support and work of volunteer Key Men appointed by their churches on or near United States Military installations around the world. This ministry is a Biblical way to help traveling Christians find local churches especially in overseas locations. It is also a method that churches can utilize to reach out and find Christians moving into their cities.

We ask congregations near military installations to appoint a Key Man for their church who will help young people coming and going in their area. More than four hundred churches of Christ are a part of this ministry. They have appointed Key Men to take care of some seven hundred military installations and ships. The AMEN Ministry maintains an up-to-date directory of these volunteers.

When a Christian enters the military, parents, preachers and others, send AMEN  their name, address, phone number and spiritual information. We pass it on to the appropriate Key Man or Key Men. If several churches are covering one installation, we send the same information to each congregation’s representative.

Armed with this information Key Men contact the Christian recruit/basic trainee and offer Christian fellowship, worship services, and counseling when needed.

Churches may become involved in this ministry by appointing a Key Man for their church and emailing a

Key Man Registration Form and mailing to the AMEN Ministry by just clicking "Submit".

Anyone may utilize this service for a loved one by sending contact information and spiritual needs on a Locator Form.
