News - November 01, 2007: Hi Harriet, Thank you so much...When we started with you and Don many moons ago, who would of thought we would be using the AMEN Ministry for our grand kids??? Josh just got married before going to Louisiana.  His bride is also a member of the church from the Albany, NY area...They really need some Christian friends. -- Bob Hastings - Help needed at Fort Polk

 Dear Rick and June,

Looks like these brothers are on the ball, ready to reach out to Sam when he arrives. Hopefully they will be just what Sam and this other marine (a PVT Kirby) need at this time.  I sent his locator (PVT Kirby) out this morning to them and here is their reply.

Just want you all to know what they have in mind.

God is so good,

Blessings,

Harriet

Randy,

There is a Mission to the military called AMEN- Its purpose is to match up Church of Christ military personnel who transfer into an area with a local Church of Christ.  This will be an opportunity for our membership to work on a local mission project.  I mentioned this to Mark Fickas on Sunday and he told me to get him the contact information. We need to find a KEY MAN to help establish this ministry to our military. The young Marine listed below needs a church home while he is here and if you have Mark's e-mail perhaps you could give this to him and he can contact PVT Andrew Kirby- I will bring this information with me on Weds., night to give to Mark if you don't contact Mark before I see him and I thought you all should be in the loop.

Harriet:

This is great!  Hilltop Rescue is working with these brothers as well.  I love to hear them talk about the Marines as a local ministry. Thank you so much for your ministry as well.

Rick (Father of Sam)

We can help figure out transportation to get him to the base to church and back. Maybe we can get others to help and rotate through the small groups like we do with Casa taking turns picking them up, taking them out for lunch and back to the base- Also for Man Power breakfasts.

There is another Marine, CPL Sam White who is on his way here as well.

Thanks,

Jim
