WHEN GOD USES A STORM
1. What is the worst storm you were ever in?
2. Do you think that God causes physical storms or are they just based on environmental conditions?

3. In Exodus 9, God brings a tremendous hail storm to try to get Pharaoh let the people of Israel go. The storm gets his attention, but ultimately, doesn’t change his heart. Did God know beforehand that the storm would not change Pharaoh’s heart? Why did he cause this storm?
4. In Job, God allows terrible calamities to befall Job. What did Job do to get the difficulties? Why would God test Job in such a difficult way? Is there any significance to God speaking to Job at the end of the book “out of a storm”?
5. In Psalm 107:23-32, the people mentioned are called “merchants on the mighty waters.” How does this text describe the people of God?
6. How can we “give thanks to the Lord for wonderful deeds” & “exalt and praise God” (107:31-32) when we face the storms in our lives?
