1.   What is your favorite thing to do on your day off?  How does that work with your other family member’s favorite things to do?

 

      2.   What do you think of when you hear the word Sabbath?  Is the original meaning of Sabbath closer to our Sunday or our    Saturday?

 

EXPLORING THE TEXT (Mark 2:23-3:6)

 

3.   What do you think was God’s intent on establishing the Sabbath? (Ref. Gen. 2:1-3; Ex. 20:8-11)

 

4.   From a “legal perspective”, what is the biggest problem in enforcing this law?

 

5.   Why are the Pharisees so upset with Jesus in these two examples?  Why is Jesus so upset with them?

 

6.   What is Jesus saying in 2:27-28?
